The Central Illinois Nonprofit Training Institute is an exciting new effort underway to create a high-quality, results-driven comprehensive training program for Central Illinois nonprofit organizations and their leaders.

In late 2015, the Institute will launch a comprehensive curriculum- and cohort-driven nonprofit excellence program focusing on 10 core competency areas for nonprofit leadership excellence. Successful attendees will earn a certificate from Illinois State University's College of Business, a certification being supported by other Central Illinois institutions as well such as UIUC, Eastern Illinois University, Parkland College, and University of Illinois at Springfield.

The program will consist of bi-weekly or monthly training in-person and online training sessions for approximately 8-10 months. Sessions will rotate around Central Illinois to build cross-community connections and create equitable travel for participants. Applied learning will come in the form of self-driven homework assignments between sessions to create real change in participating organization's operations.

The Institute's vision is to create a competitive edge for nonprofit organizations and employees and strengthen the positive impact the nonprofit sector has in all Central Illinois communities and their economies, as well as families and children throughout the region.

This is a program being developed specifically for current and aspiring Central Illinois nonprofit Executive Directors and top level nonprofit management team members.

This effort is being supported and coordinated by a wide variety of organizations and entities in addition to the academic institutions listed above, including United Ways, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Community Foundations, do good Consulting, and many others.
