Title: Elections Don't Happen on Election Day Alone, with Cristina Cray
Description: Cristina Cray, Director of Legislation for the Illinois State Board of Elections is our November speaker. The Board of Elections is non-partisan and is designed to serve as the authority for all Illinois election law, information and procedures. Cristina will provide an update on this election cycle and share ways we can ensure our voices are heard, beyond election day alone.
Speaker Bio: Cris began her duties as the Director of Legislation for the State Board of Elections in January 2003. This includes serving as the liaison between the Board and the General Assembly, Congressional members and their staff, the 109 local election jurisdictions and numerous state, local and civic organizations.
A native of Quincy, Cris has been in Springfield for the past 28 years. Cris came to the Board from the Office of the Lt. Governor where she worked for four years and from the Illinois House Republican Staff where she served for eight years. Prior to her work on the partisan staff, Cris served as the legislative liaison for the Illinois Lottery.
In addition to her position with the state, Cris teaches part-time at both Lincoln Land Community College and the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Cris serves on many charitable and scholastic boards but most importantly, she is a proud aunt of twelve.
