Description: Learn about a new movement that forward-thinking people are adopting which is focused on sponsoring versus mentoring to elevate - in particular, under represented individuals - in the workplace.

Presenter: Lori Gold Patterson

Lori is the CEO of Pixo, a mentor for startups and Fortune 500 companies, and a speaker. She is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Lori co-founded Pixo in 1998. Since then, the staff size has grown from 2 to 30 people. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Illinois, Lori brings the experience of working in corporate management to the entrepreneurial adventure of being the business mind behind a team of bright artists and software engineers at Pixo.

Lori received the Athena Award in 2011 and recently received the Woman on the Rise award from the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, Entrepreneurial Excellence in Management Award at the Innovation Celebration. She's a longtime member of the ECCC.
