Title:
Diversity, Inclusion and Innovation: Unleashing and Empowering our Creative Workforce
Description:
Creativity is key when solving technology and business problems for organizations who want to innovate, adapt, and/or enter new markets or using expertise in emerging technologies and technology business models. While creativity refers to the act of generating new ideas, innovation is the flexible thinking that results in measurable outcomes. Innovative ideas can come from anywhere and a culture of innovation can be created with a diverse and inclusive workforce that brings different perspectives to bear on a problem. Such cultures create space for everyone to contribute to the solution. Dr. Garrick will present results from his research lab and across the University of Illinois highlight the connections between diversity & inclusion and creativity & innovation.
