About the Speaker: Shandra Summerville
Shandra Summerville currently serves as the Cultural and Linguistic Competence Coordinator for the Champaign County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Boards. She specializes in cultural competence training and development for organizations that want to expand their capacity to become culturally responsive and increase their opportunity to incorporate the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, she is an instructor for Mental Health First Aid for Adults, Public Safety, and Adults Assisting Youth.
Shandra Summerville attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Arkansas majoring in Speech and Drama with an emphasis of Mass Communications and Public Relations.
Shandra was born and raised in the Champaign-Urbana Community and returned to the Champaign-Urbana area in 2002 after residing in Pine Bluff Arkansas, where she worked as a Field Director for the Girl Scouts and served as the director of an Adult Day Center Facility.
Shandra is an alumnus of the 2010 & 2018 Georgetown Leadership Academy to Address Disparities in Mental Health and Cultural and Linguistic Competence working with persons living with an intellectual or developmental disability.
Shandra is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Champaign and is a member of the NAACP
Champaign County Branch; United Way Emerging Community Leaders Alumni Committee, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Krannert Advancement Council, Illinois Public Media Community Advisory Committee.
Shandra currently serves at First United Methodist Church of Urbana (FMUC) and Windsor Road Christian Church (WRCC). She serves as a Lay Speaker and wedding coordinator at FUMC. She also serves as a worship leader as a vocalist at Windsor Road Church
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, learning new “things to do” in her community, spending time with family, and listening to music.

12:00 p.m.: Meeting/Program begins in person and Zoom Call Starts
Registration Information:
This event will be hosted in person and via Zoom. The location is at the Lincoln Room, iHotel, 1900 South First Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
Each registrant will receive two reminder emails before the luncheon.
Registration for in-person members is $20.00 and includes lunch. Registration for Zoom is complimentary.
The registration deadline for the luncheon is August 12, 2024, and refunds can be issued up until the same date.
Cancelation and Refunds:
If payment is not received by August 12, 2024, or a cancellation hasn't been made, attendees are expected to honor the luncheon fee. If you need to cancel your registration, please contact Treasurer, Shari Fox.
